Dim Pahar is a hill located in Bandarban district of Bangladesh. The hill is located right in the middle of Alikadam and Thanchi upazilas. The boundaries of the two police stations have been determined by this hill. The highest road in Bangladesh has been built through this hill at an altitude of two and a half thousand feet above sea level. At the height of two and a half thousand feet, the top of the hill is shaped like an egg and the locals know it as Dim Pahar (Egg Hills).
These roads and Dim Pahar have gained a lot of popularity among adventure-loving travelers. The boundaries of Alikadam and Thanchi police stations have been demarcated with Dim pahar full of natural beauty and diverse tribal lifestyle. The construction of 33 km long Alikadam-Thanchi road under the supervision of Bangladesh Army has made it easier to reach Dim Pahar.
It is difficult to describe in words the form of nature that can be seen walking along this hilly path, which stretches from Alikadam to a height of about 2500 feet. Make it a witness of history or a beauty traveler, return from here with a different kind of complacency.

The Thanchi-Ali Kadam road is the highest road in Bangladesh on the hill of Dim, built at an altitude of two and a half thousand feet above sea level. Dim Pahar is located right in the middle of Alikadam and Thanchi upazilas of Bandarban. The road is the second highest elevated road in South Asia. This path is a winding spiral of 33 km green hills. The most interesting place on the Thanchi-Alikadam road is the Dim Hill. The mountain looks like an egg. The local Mro tribes call this hill ‘Crowdong’ hill. Such a beautiful mountain can not be found anywhere else in Bangladesh. If you come to this hill by bike, a strange cold wind will make your whole body tremble. The egg hill is so close to the clouds that it feels like there is always cold air. Coldness can be felt directly. Even in the scorching heat, when the eggs reach the hill, the cold air freezes. And the beautiful scenery that can be seen from the mountains will remain in the memory of the lyric forever. Waterfalls are flowing along the rocky slopes of the dense green hills. The murmur of the cool water of the fountain echoes the surrounding environment. On the other hand, the white clouds in the sky can be touched by standing on the road in the egg hill! This road has gone from Thanchi in Bandarban to Alikadam towards another tourist city Cox’s Bazar.

History Of Road Construction On Dim Pahar
The construction work of this road started in 1999. In the first two years, the Department of Roads and Highways (RHD) completed the construction of only 8 km of roads. Then the RHD informed that it was not possible for them to build a road on the top of the hill. If the RHD fails to build the road, the Bangladesh Army is called in to build the road. Then in 2001 the army was given the responsibility to build the road. The road map was made by helicopter by the army. Then the path is made by cutting the body of the hill after hill. The engineering department of the army worked tirelessly for a decade to build the road. All the people, including Thanchi Alikadam, are grateful to the ECB 16 and 17 units of the Army for constructing the road. The construction of this 35 km long road has cost around Tk 120 crore. And it took about 1 decade. Three members of the Army Engineering Corps died in various accidents during construction. The road distance between Thanchi and Alikadam, two neighboring upazilas of Bandarban, was 190 km. This road was opened to the public on July 14, 2015. The distance is only 33 kilometers. Around this road, one can find innumerable streams, Fountains and waterfalls.

However, a special magnetic test is needed to find out.
