There is an impeccably beautiful lake called Prantik Lake in Bandarban. The total area of the lake is only 25 to 30 acres out of 68 acres. The lake is larger in size than Boga Lake. The area of Boga Lake is 15 acres. Surrounded by mountains and forests, this beautiful lake is full of various species of plants. In 2013, the government declared Prantik lake a tourist reserve. There are many species of wild animals including monkeys and birds in the forest on the banks of the lake which is born naturally. There are Dahuk, different species of aquatic plants in the pond.
Although the naturally occurring vegetation enhances the beauty of the lake, a variety of flower, fruit, medicinal and woody trees have been planted on its unneeded and fallow land. There are plans to build a footpath around it. The district administration is implementing the plan under the direct supervision of Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Banik.

Prantik Lake is an artificial reservoir created over an area of about 25 acres. Although the area of Prantik Lake is 25 acres, the whole complex is much larger. A huge lake of 25 acres surrounded by hills covering an area of 68 acres which is bigger than Boga Lake. Located at one end of the district, the lake is called Prantik Lake.

How To Go To Prantik Lake
From different places in Dhaka buses of S. Alam, Saudia, Saint Martin Transport, Unique, Hanif, Shyamoli, Dolphin etc. leave for Bandarban. The fare of these buses per person is non AC 550 and AC 950-1500 respectively. It takes 8-10 hours to go to Bandarban by bus from Dhaka.
If you want to go by train from Dhaka to Chittagong Sonar Bangla, Subarna Express, Turna Nishita, Mahanagar Godhuli you can go to Chittagong by these trains. Rent varies from 350 to 1200 Taka. Besides, you can come to Chittagong directly by air from Dhaka.
From Baddarhat in Chittagong two pubs named Pubali and Purbani left for Bandarban. These two buses cost 220 Taka per person. You can come to Bandarban by bus from Dhampara bus stand in Chittagong for 200-300 Taka.

Bandarban To Prantik Lake
From Bandarban city, you can reach Prantik Lake by Chander Gari, private car, jeep, baby taxi.
Prantik Lake is located at Haludia on the Bandarban-Keranihat road in the Bandarban district. The location of the lake is 14 kilometers away from the city. Coming to Bandarban from anywhere in the country, you have to take a bus on Bandarban-Keranihat road and get off at Haludia. In the direction of Chittagong, you have to get off at Haludia on Keranihat Road in Chittagong.
From there you have to go by autorickshaw to Prantik Lake. The rent will be 100 Taka. Apart from Bandarban, you can go to Prantik Lake by autorickshaw, Chander Gari or any other vehicle of your own. That means, the next stop at Bajalia bus stand on Bandarban-Chittagong road is Haludia Bazar. You can get down here and go to Prantik Lake by local or reserve CNG. Reserve CNG will cost 100-120 Taka. Or you can go to Prantik Lake by reserve CNG from Bandarban city. In that case, the rent is 250-300 Taka. And if you want to camp here, you have to get permission from the DC office beforehand.
