Malnicherra Tea Garden is a tea garden located in Sylhet district of Bangladesh. It is the oldest tea garden in the subcontinent. Malnichhara Tea Garden is the largest and first established tea garden in Bangladesh and the subcontinent. It was founded in 1849 by Lord Hudson on 1,500 acres. The first tea production in China began in 1850. Drinking tea was one of the seven tasks of the daily life of the intellectuals of the country. About 200 years later, in 1854, the first tea production started in Sylhet in the Pak-Indian subcontinent. The British and Bangladeshis became accustomed to tea. Tea cultivation in the subcontinent originated from the Malnichhara tea garden in Sylhet. How To Go To Malnicherra Tea Garden Estate
You can go to Sylhet by bus, train or airline from any part of Bangladesh. Then you can easily rent a rickshaw, autorickshaw, or CNG from any part of Sylhet city to reach Malnichhara Tea Garden. It takes 10 minutes by CNG and 25 minutes by rickshaw from Amberkhana Point.
