Dhaka To Sylhet:

You can go to Sylhet by Bus, Train or Plane. From Fakirapul, Sayedabad and Mohakhali bus stations, the buses including Green Line, Shyamoli, Saudia, S. Alam, and Ena Paribahan go for Sylhet. You will find both AC/Non-AC bus in the Dhaka to Sylhet route. In the AC bus, it will cost you BDT 800 to 1200. Likewise, in the Non-AC bus, it will cost you BDT 400 to 450.

If you want to go to Sylhet by Train, you have to start from Kamlapur or Airport Railway Station. You will find Upobon, Jayantika, Parbat or Kalani Express train for going to Sylhet. It will take nearly Six to Seven hours to reach Sylhet from Dhaka. At the same time, it will cost you nearly BDT 150 to 1018 considering your seat.

Similarly, you can go to Sylhet by Plane. It is the fastest and easiest way to reach Sylhet approximately within an hour. You can go to Sylhet from Chittagong by Bus or Train. The trains- Paharika and Udayan Express, go to Sylhet 6 days in a week. It will cost you nearly BDT 145 to 1190.

Sylhet To Bichnakandi:

If you want to go to Bichanakandi, you will have to go to Amborkhana point in the city of Sylhet. There are CNG stations on the Airport Road. It is good to go to Hadarpar by reserving a CNG. It will need BDT 1000 to 1200 for reserving a CNG. Hadarpar Bazar is not too big or small. You will find nearly everything here including dry foods, fresh water, snacks or cloths. From the Hadarpar Bazar Ghat, you will find the boat for going to Bichanakandi.

Important to realize, in the same route/ghat, you can go to Pantumai Waterfall or Lucknowchara. Some of the boatmen may demand you BDT 2000 for going to Bichanakandi. But it’s too high. Try to bargain with other boatmen and you may/will get within BDT 1100 to 1500 from here. In the dry season, you can go by walking. It takes only 30 to 40 minutes to reach Bichanakandi by foot. At the same time, you will find the Motorbike in the dry season. They will take within BDT 50 to 60 only. But in the rainy season, it is the only option of going by boat. Within the same fare, you can go to Bichanakandi, Pantumai Waterfall and Lucknowchara. So, contract with the boatman like this.

Where will you Stay:

As it takes very little time, and you can come back to Hadarpar within the day time, it is good to stay the night in Sylhet Town. You can stay in the hotel as per your needs and ability. The most affordable hotels are Hotel Hill Town, Gulshan, Darga Gate, Surma, Kaikobad. You will find a lot of hotels here in Sylhet Town within your budget. There are also many quality rest houses within low budget in Lala Bazar area and Darga Road. You will find a room within BDT 400 to 1000 for 2 to 3 persons.

What will you eat:

There is no arrangement to eat in Bichanakandi. You may get some snacks item here, but you should not rely on it. You should take your food from Hadarpar Bazar. It is good to keep some dry food, water, and clothes with you. Notably, you can taste Bhuna Khichuri of Gani Miya from Hadarpar Bazar. On the other hand, you will find a lot of Hotels and Restaurants in Sylhet Town. You will find most of the items here.

  • Try to visit Bichanakandi early in the morning and come back before the evening. Because the condition of the road is not so good and the security also matters in this area.
  • It is the place full of with rock. So be careful when moving here.
