Marayong Dong (Marayon Thong) is a hill in the Mirinja Range of Alikadam Police Station in Bandarban District. This hill is also known as; Marayan Tong, Maraing Tong, Merai Thong Jadi, Maraing Dong etc. There is a Buddhist shrine on the top of this hill which is about 1650 feet high. The huge Buddha statues in the open nature make this place more solemn. The mountains on the horizon and the river Matamuhuri flowing like a snake below, the crop fields are all a state of imagination will give unconditional feelings.

Marayon Thong or Marayong Tong is the name of a hill in the Mirinja Range of Alikadam Upazila in Bandarban. It is 1650 feet above sea level. At the very top of this hill is a Buddhist shrine, there is a bust of Gautam Buddha. The shrine has given the whole place a specialty. The peak of the Marayon Tong Jadi hill is perfectly flat. Standing on the top, as far as the eye can see, there are only 6 rows of hills. This is like a sea of ​​mountains. And the river Matamuhuri has gone down the hill like a snake.

How To Go To Marayong Thong

You have to go to the bus which are going to Cox’s Bazar from any part of the country. Get off at Chakraya Bus Station. Then you have to come to Alikadam by bus, jeep or CNG. If you go by local car, the fare will be 80 Taka, and if you reserve a jeep, the cost will be 1200 to 1500 BDT. One jeep can seat 12 to 13 people. You have to take an autorickshaw from Alikadam to a place called Abasik. It will cost you 20 Taka.

Going to Abasik ask anyone, they will show you the way of Marayong Thong. There is only one road. After walking this road for two and a half hours, you will reach Marayong Thong Jadi. It is the highest hill in Alikadam. This hill is also known as Marayon Dong and Meraithong.

Where To Stay At Marayong Thong

Everyone usually goes for camping in Marayon Tong. So you have to take camping equipment with you. Such as water, glucose, dry food, first aid and if you want to cook, take the necessary cooking ingredients. Make sure you have sheets and sleeping bags with you.
