The 745 feet long water discharge path or spray way is attached to 16 dams adjacent to the river. The spray way can emit 5,25,000 cusec feet of water per second. For this project, a budget of about 25.4 million Taka was set, but later it went up to 48 crores. After the construction of Dam, it resulted in the flooding of 54 thousand acres of agricultural land in Rangamati district and this Kaptai Lake was created.

How To Go To Kaptai Lake:
It takes about 7 to 8 hours to go directly to Kaptai by buses from Sayedabad or Kamlapur in Dhaka. Besides, if you want you can go to Kaptai from Chittagong. Every 30 minutes from Baddharhat bus stand leaves the bus for Kaptai. It takes BDT 80 to 120. It will take 2 hours.
